Browser OR Wowser?? Welcome to Rockmelt free download

This morning, I came across a post which talked about the internet browser ratings of recent times and the surprising name was "RockMelt". I initially mis-spelt it to read as Rock Salt and after correcting myself did NOT see any difference on why that name to be.

Getting introduced as "Beta" browser ("Beta" in hindi means "Son") with Chrome in 2010, it is quite interesting sitting pretty as one of the top 5 internet browser used world wide. As this browser was built on top of Google Chrome's open source code version V8, the look and feel was almost like Google Chrome.

If it is based on Google Chrome, why people don't directly use Google Chrome? This is where the specialization comes into picture. It was well intended browser for those Social Media Junkies, like me, who wants to be constantly updated on the social media updates like Facebook and Twitter. In fact, in 2010, twitter  marked RockMelt as one of the top tweeted tech trend.

I still could NOT figure out why Chrome could NOT be used with Facebook and Twitter extensions, instead of this RockMelt.

Atlast I found the answer to be this, people could do the same with Chrome, but RockMelt enables them to do 2 key strokes shorter..

I saw the tagline of new browser to be "Wow"ser... Well, now I understand that the "Wow" factor could result by reducing 2 key strokes shorter too....

On an unrelated topic: Wowser is a slang expression, most commonly heard in Australian and New Zealand English. It originated in Australia, at first carrying a similar meaning to 'lout', i.e. an annoying or disruptive person. However, around the beginning of the 19th century it shifted to its present meaning: one whose overdeveloped sense of morality drives them to deprive others of their pleasures.

Indeed, makes sense!!
