Repost : Moringa - The Magical Tree

Repost:
As per the scientist across the globe, this magical tree contains the following benefits:

1) This would increase the activation levels of the consumer more than 150%.
2) You will NOT find any comparable tree which has so many nutritional - rich in nutrition and rich in multi vitamin
3) This contains most of the ingredients that could cure epidemic, cardio-vascular and cancer diseases.
4) This is the only plant/tree that contains lower calories and lower bad fats BUT highest anti-oxidant contents.
5) The roots of the tree contain the natural chemicals that has some of the critical medicinal benefits/values in it.
6) The trunk of the tree is used for completely curing and healing the cut skins.
7) The seeds of its output were used in aromatic oil which can be used for cooking and cosmetic products.
8) The used chunks can be/are used for the effective water purification.
9) The leaves of it contains high vitamin contents and
10)Uses include as an antiseptic and in treating rheumatism, venomous bites, and other conditions
11)Extract from the seeds is used as a flocculant in a low-cost form of water treatment. - courtesy-Wiki
12) In February 2010, Current Protocols in Microbiology published a step by step extraction and treatment procedure to produce "90.00% to 99.99%" bacterial reduction. - courtesy-Wiki
13) The seeds are also considered an excellent biofuel source for making biodiesel. -courtesy-Wiki
so on..

The above facts were NOT put across by me and I so far hated them to the core except its leaves.. still NOT finding the queue.. Let us see this video about this MAGICAL TREE called MORINGA to see if you find the real name....

After watching the video, I see that you found the answer to the build up i have given, with the exclamation I have given on seeing it : "Ada.. namba Murungakkaa!!"

Excerpt from Wiki:
Moringa oleifera, the word Moringa probably came from dravidian language Tamil and commonly referred to as "Shojne" in Bengali, "Munagakaya" in Telugu, "Shenano" in Rajasthani, "Shevaga" in Marathi, "Nuggekai" in Kannada, "Moringa" (from Tamil: Murungakai, Malayalam: Muringa, Konkani: Mashinga sanga[1]), and Malunggáy in Filipino, is the most widely cultivated species of the genus Moringa, which is the only genus in the family Moringaceae. It is an exceptionally nutritious vegetable tree with a variety of potential uses. The tree itself is rather slender, with drooping branches that grow to approximately 10 m in height. In cultivation, it is often cut back annually to 1 meter or less and allowed to regrow so that pods and leaves remain within arm's reach.

soppu saamaan: down that nostalgic lane

By subject, i am sure i have taken you briefly to your childhood days, if you know thamizh and born before 1980's. Before i go further into the soppu saamaan, this word in English would mean wooden kitchen utensil toy in plain butler English translation and I am NOT sure if the below picture could match your imagination or should I say helped in  reviving "nastalgic" moments?? :)

The answer to Why the title now is ...

why this kolaveri?

Yes, the subject of today's blog post was taken a leaf or branch out of recent sensational single song hit "Why this kolaveri de?" and while I was humming the number, it did make me wonder why this song became rage apart from the catchy tune.

As you might know, Kolaveri is the tamil colloquial which can be approximately translated to as "murderous, heinous" etc.,

Accidental perusal of the TV channels triggered the answer for me. Here is the youtube video of one recent program from Tamil channel named "Thamizhagathin samayal champion".

With the little more than 1 minute watch, I see 99.5% of the words coming out of the anchor and the chefs' were English and the native language of the Thamizhagam finds its place here and there.

On hearing the complete "Why this kolaveri de" song, people would note the similar statistics of 99.5% english usage on casual tamizh conversation among the youth. This may be the exact reason why this song became such a blast!!

visionary poet Bharathiyaar envisioned this in his times:  "தமிழ் இனி மெல்ல சாகும்!!". But still "why this kolaveri"?!~

Probably the song has a point not only for the love angle but ALSO at the language angle!!

Check the number before you dial in!!

A man wanted to call the hospital to ask about his pregnant wife, but he mistakely called the cricket stadium

He asked 'How is the situation?'

He was shocked and nearly died of heart attack when he heard the reply !!!!

They said
1) Its fine 3 are out already
2) We are hoping to get another 7 out by lunch
3) The last one was a DUCK

Moral of the story: Check the number before you dial in!! :)

Are you growing this poison plant at your home?

I have already written my previous post some years back on "do plants have intelligence?". But today's topic is NOT about the G-one side of the plant but Ra-one side of it.

If you are growing the plant given below at your home or you have seen it in your office spare, beware of the following fact: It is called Poison plant too.

Looks familiar, isn't it?? As they say "Danger and Delight grow on one stalk", this plant carries both the danger and delight under its roots.

I got the following forward about it this morning.
" almost lost my daughter who put a piece of the leaf of this plant in her mouth and her tongue swelled to the point of suffocation. This is one plant but there are others with the same characteristics of coloring. Those are also poisonous and we should get rid of them. Please watch out for our children. As we all leave our children home in the hands of the helpers, we should give them a safe environment where they can play. This plant that we have in our homes and offices is extremely dangerous!

This plant is common in Kenya , Rwanda, Uganda in plant nurseries, many offices and homes. It is a deadly poison, mainly for the children. It can kill a kid in less than a minute and an adult in 15 minutes. It should be uprooted from gardens and taken out of offices. If touched, one should never touch ones eyes; it can cause partial or permanent blindness. Please alert your buddies!!"

Considering the number of times it got forwarded, I thought it would be yet another hoax mail in the line of "Maatchi/saamy-kanna-kutthum if not forwarded to 10 other people" . But digged up deeper, the links with proper analysis says "dieffenbachia, a very popular indoor pot plant as this dumb cane is called. If the leaves of dieffenbachia are ingested by humans or animals, poisoning can indeed occur". If you want to hear some more worst case scenario impacts of it, here you go: "Deaths from dieffenbachia poisoning can occur, but are very rare"

It also says "It is a popular indoor ornamental in Nova Scotia because it tolerates low light and dry heat. Like other arums, dumbcane contains oxalate crystals. If eaten, the leaves may cause burning, swelling in the mouth and throat, and choking, accompanied by a temporary loss of speech"

So, once again, the usual message goes: Beware or Be Aware!!

Time to write something interesting about Super Star

Sometime back I wrote about two tamil film related funny articles on Google Transliteration was mainly about the artificial un-intelligence injected to mess with Vijay Fans.

But today is something to cheer the fans of Super Star, Rajni Kanth and the Google.

As you know Google recently brought in "Instant on" feature where the google search "auto completes" your keyword search.

See the below snapshot on what google think our Rajnikanth can and can NOT do.

They say a picture says 1000 words and I do NOT want 1001'th comment, Amen!!

25 worst passwords of 2011 - interesting survey

Recently I have blogged about the safety measures that should be exercised when using the passwords. click this link for knowing more about it.

Today's post is a cousin sister of the same where found quite amused to read the 25 worst passwords by the internet users across the globe in 2011.

Here is the excerpt from the Washington Post and BitDefender:
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

“Password” ranks first on password management application provider SplashData’s annual list of worst internet passwords, which are ordered by how common they are. (“Passw0rd,” with a numeral zero, isn’t much smarter, ranking 18th on the list.)

The list is somewhat predictable: Sequences of adjacent numbers or letters on the keyboard, such as “qwerty” and “123456,” and popular names, such as “ashley” and “michael,” all are common choices. Other common choices, such as “monkey” and “shadow,” are harder to explain.

As some websites have begun to require passwords to include both numbers and letters, it makes sense varied choices, such as “abc123? and “trustno1,” are popular choices.

SplashData created the rankings based on millions of stolen passwords posted online by hackers. Here is the complete list:

1. password
2. 123456
3.12345678
4. qwerty
5. abc123
6. monkey
7. 1234567
8. letmein
9. trustno1
10. dragon
11. baseball
12. 111111
13. iloveyou
14. master
15. sunshine
16. ashley
17. bailey
18. passw0rd
19. shadow
20. 123123
21. 654321
22. superman
23. qazwsx
24. michael
25. football
SplashData CEO Morgan Slain urges businesses and consumers using any password on the list to change them immediately.

“Hackers can easily break into many accounts just by repeatedly trying common passwords,” Slain says. “Even though people are encouraged to select secure, strong passwords, many people continue to choose weak, easy-to-guess ones, placing themselves at risk from fraud and identity theft.”

The company provided some tips for choosing secure passwords in a statement:

1. Vary different types of characters in your passwords; include numbers, letters and special characters when possible.
2. Choose passwords of eight characters or more. Separate short words with spaces or underscores.
3. Don’t use the same password and username combination for multiple websites. Use an online password manager to keep track of your different accounts.

According to a week-long study conducted by Internet security company BitDefender, over 250,000 user names, email addresses, and passwords used for Twitter sites can easily be found online.

The study also revealed that 75 percent of Twitter username and password samples collected online were identical to those used for email accounts.

The sensitive user data was gathered from blogs, torrents, online collaboration services and other sources. It was found that 43 percent of the data was leaked from online collaboration tools while 21 percent of data was leaked from blog postings. Meanwhile, torrents and users of other social hubs were responsible for leaking 10 percent and 18 percent of user data respectively.

BitDefender warned social media users to be careful when setting up passwords for Twitter platforms and email. The researchers managed to verify the leaked email accounts and found that 75 percent of users had one common password for Twitter and accessing their email. Additionally, the study revealed that 87 percent of email IDs, user names, and passwords gathered from various sources were still active.

Cybercriminals could easily use this sensitive user data to hijack email accounts and Twitter profiles and can further be used to spread spam and malware across those platforms.

BitDefender has advised users to be extra careful while creating passwords for Twitter and email accounts and avoid using the same password just for the sake of convenience. Considering the fact that online collaboration tools are not that adept in protecting sensitive user information, users have been told to be more careful the next time they decided to share their emails, user names and passwords with a third party website.

The study conducted by BitDefender follows the release of a torrent containing a list of 171 million Facebook users, complete with their names and Facebook URLs. The security researcher who released the list for download explained that he was able to extract the names and URLs of Facebook users from a directory offered by the website itself. Facebook has maintained that the directory only contains the information users have themselves chosen to make public and can also be found via search engines

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
While it surprises me on how any sane person could use "password" as their password, It incidentally reminded me of my nephew who always used the password as "Thalakani" ("pillow" in English for the tamil uninitiated!!) with no such special characters or letters or numbers. I am wondering how many expert hackers can crack such passwords??? :)

Invention of the flight - Right & brother Vs. Rama & brother?

I know the title of this blog would have given enough clues to munch on today's blog post subject that I am going to present about. Who actually invented the flight? If you are the "modern day manickam", you would probably say Wright Brothers. What would be your reaction if I say the (w)Right is Wrong?

I have already written this similar article back in 2009.

However, today I got to watch this interesting excerpt from History Channel and you will know more truth about great Indian science background.

The interesting fact about the details of the Brahmastra which I used to be fascinated with when hearing the Ramayana where scores of people died when used by indrajit, brother of Ravanan. The science scholars now compare them with the nuclear weapon.

Also, listen carefully as the fact on the ancient Indians managed to propel ahead was explained interestingly.

Now, if you are the one who is asking this question: "Okay, we were great!! whats now?", my answer would be "let us begin to see what we have missed out and where we have missed out". In the quest, probably we may retrieve our lost scientific brilliance and inventions to the man kind.

some one comments on this you tube originator's post: "You still got to admit, Government should hide this technology for the? safety of each other, History repeats itself, its a matter of when. Just imagine if people knew about this. having their own saucers. and that energy weapon, We would destroy each other over greed".

aye! aye!! captain!!

Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi - was he really that bad?

I got this forward this morning and I see the bright side of this man, if it is good to be true:

The media has successfully painted Gaddafi as a hard-core dictator, tyrant whatever you want to call him. However, the media as usual has also failed to show the kind, giving Gaddafi we never heard of. Gaddafi unlike most dictators I will refrain from naming them has managed to show his humane side, the very side we dream of seeing in other dictators who just talk and talk.

Libyans are lucky to a certain extent and one wonders with the new democratic rule they cry for will it improve or worsen life for them. Yes, Gaddafi has spent millions of Libya`s money on personal ventures but is the average Libyan poor? We know others who take a country and destroy it until you feel like there is no hope of restoring this country. looting some prefer to call it. Did Gaddafi loot Libya in any way?

Now let us get to the unknown facts about the Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi:

Great Man-Made River project in Libya - $27 billion
1. There is no electricity bill in Libya; electricity is free for all its citizens.
2. There is no interest on loans, banks in Libya are state-owned and loans given to all its citizens at 0% interest by law.
3. Home considered a human right in Libya - Gaddafi vowed that his parents would not get a house until everyone in Libya had a home. Gaddafi's father has died while he, his wife and his mother are still living in a tent.
4. All newlyweds in Libya receive $60,000 Dinar (US$50,000) by the government to buy their first apartment so to help start up the family.
5. Education and medical treatments are free in Libya. Before Gaddafi only 25% of Libyans are literate. Today the figure is 83%.
6. Should Libyans want to take up farming career, they would receive farming land, a farming house, equipment, seeds and livestock to kick-start their farms - all for free.
7. If Libyans cannot find the education or medical facilities they need in Libya, the government funds them to go abroad for it - not only free but they get US$2,300/mth accommodation and car allowance.
8. In Libyan, if a Libyan buys a car, the government subsidized 50% of the price.
9. The price of petrol in Libya is $0.14 per litre.
10. Libya has no external debt and its reserves amount to $150 billion - now frozen globally.
11. If a Libyan is unable to get employment after graduation the state would pay the average salary of the profession as if he or she is employed until employment is found.
12. A portion of Libyan oil sale is, credited directly to the bank accounts of all Libyan citizens.
13. A mother who gave birth to a child receives US$5,000.
14. 40 loaves of bread in Libya costs $ 0.15.
15. 25% of Libyans have a university degree.
16. Gaddafi carried out the world's largest irrigation project, known as the Great Man-Made River project, to make water readily available throughout the desert country.

Which other dictator has done so much good to his people?
Please share this if you like it!!!

Welcome to Mirror Age...

You might have heard about the different era's of mankind's evolution in the following ages: Stone age, bronze age, Iron age, industrial age to the current Information age. Thanks to this evolution so far, you are able to read from the other part of the world from what I have written in one part of the world. "Atlast Atlas Shrugged, huh!!?

Hold on your thoughts, with the upcoming mirror age, you might think twice about it. I have already written an article about it in my technical blog : Techncare about it. Click this article to more about it.

To give you snapshot, how you would feel if:
1) Your windows automatically responds to the climate change so that you dont need to open/close depending upon the weather and sunlight,
2) You are able to gauge and navigate through the live traffic the way to your office so that you can plan your day and route properly with the advise
3) You are able to chat, watch TV, live events any corner of your home without having to carry your tablet, laptop, PC and other magical jelly beans.
and so on..

The experience would be like this as depicted in this video, if you proceed ahead:

Magical Tree - Bhagyaraj would be proud of..

Repost: By reading this subject, I am sure you would be surprised/disturbed/perplexed/...xxed : what the heck Magical Tree has to do with Director Bhagyaraj, if you follow Tamil Film Industry.

But let us forget Bhagyaraj for a moment and talk about this so-called Magical tree..

As per the scientist across the globe, this tree contains the following benefits:

1) This would increase the activation levels of the consumer more than 150%.

After watching the video, I see that you found the answer to the build up i have given, with the exclamation I have given on seeing it : "Ada.. namba Murungakkaa!!"

Now, do you see its relevance with tamil film director, Mr.Bhagyaraj??!!

State of Exam Paper corrections

Though the below screenshot may be amusing, this clearly depicts the mounting pressure on the teacher during the paper correction process to achieve their daily targets. Otherwise, I am NOT sure why any sane teacher could correct the below paper during paper evaluations :)

BTW, I like the way this kid has practiced the art of buffering the exam papers when he really out of contents to write about.

"Vonnoda approach romba pudichurukku raasa!!"

Harsh Truth about Tamilnadu Electricity Situations

I got a forwarded article couple of days back with the following facts:
1) From Neyveli lignite corp (in Tamilnadu), 11 crore unit of Electricity(Megawatts?) being dispatched to Karnataka daily.
2) From Neyveli lignite corp (in Tamilnadu), 9 crore unit of Electricity being dispatched to Kerala daily.
3) From Neyveli lignite corp (in Tamilnadu), 6 crore unit of Electricity being dispatched to Andhra Pradesh daily.

But the total insufficiency for the Tamilnadu state for its own consumption itself is 22 Crores when their own state unit sending 26 crores of units to neighboring states.

The irony is TN government is paying huge premium price for such deficiency to compensate with where they could be self-reliant on themselves with NLC. :)

I guess big lobbying happening to create a fake demand to estabilish the controversial nuke plant at Koodankulam.

Beware or Be Aware??!!@#

Corporate Competitions - Checkmate

This interesting picture I saw this morning and it quite amused on how the sense of humour prevails within rival competitors and how much they go to make their points.

Do send in the recent such interesting posting/articles which flared up the egos/mud slinging acts of the big corps, if you have come across one.

Another Atrocity .. recent one

You might have seen the posters of "Power star" comedian actor's pictures and laughed out at your hearts content.

This one is more hilarious and dangerously atrocious in the same scale. You would have seen my earlier post on "Google translation post" but the below posture proves that to be true.
Vijay in Abdul Kalam Post when he obtained dubakoor doctorate from university.

Caption says: "America has stopped the nuclear treaties. China  heightened the fortifications of the Great wall of China and Pakistan has supplied iron vests to its soldiers - All because of our one man army - Vijay" ..

After reading the above posts contents, I felt the same way the skeleton felt below. I am sure you would feel the same way, right?

In Tamil there is a saying: "Mannan evvazhi makkal avvazhi". May be these Vijay posters proving the reverse!!

Beware when using password protected sites in the cyber cafe

Though this might be a older post as the technology may be old as well but I got hold of this interesting article when I was looking at the ATM urgency article.

What if the password of your bank site is being hacked or gmail is hacked?  Or any other password protected site you have used for all your personal purposes being hacked?

There could be several possibilities on how it could be hacked but still one common mistake where everyone of us may do time and again is using cyber cafe in case of urgencies. Look at the backside of the PC is what is suggested

Keyboard logging technique is one such technique where you end up awarding your secrecy without you are being aware of.  Still NOT able to figure it out? proceed to see how..

Reverse PIN - Answer to your ATM urgency

I got an interesting forward which talks about increasing robbery held at ATM centers. This is a typical scenario where the mugger mob tries to prey a victim and arm twist them at the ATM centers probably at a gunpoint or other  life threatening pointers.

Imagine you being in the victim spot and I am sure the thought itself get your heartbeat doubled.

Proceed ahead to know the important detail about how you can overcome such scenarios

Not yet another article on Bodhi dharma aka Da-mo..

First of all, let me tell you that I am glad to join the bandwagon of writing about "newly discovered" tamil legend(??) Bodhi Dharma aka Da-mo who has been referred as the father of "Shaolin" monk community.

Why sudden crazy about Bhodhi dharma?  Blame it on Director Murugadoss who created such a huge hype around his new discovery : "Shaolin god was/is from South India and he is a Tamil". Boy, when I looked at the stats on how many pointed searches on "Bodhi dharma" was made since his deepavali(aka. Diwali) release tamil movie "7 am arivu" (aka "7th Sense"), I must say the numbers are mind-boggling.

When I looked further, I see though with 15 minutes of the Bodhidharma episode was showcased in his movie, there are interesting documentary movies around though NOT in Indian movie which substantiate the facts about Da-mo.

This movie clips (I am NOT sure about the piracy laws around them though) from youtube, makes me wonder that Chinese acknowledge and appreciate the fact about the Bodhi dharma roots from India and infact appreciate the gift to them from him and Indian community in-turn. "Blue eyed Barbarian" as some of the anti da-mo critics loved to refer,  is being referred as 3rd son of King of Koshi (chinese version of "Kanchipuram" which is a city in Tamilnadu, India in its current version).

Proceed ahead to see some of the boringly slow but with lot of interesting dramatic version of Bodhidharma's life history from China, if you loved him seeing on the screen recently.
