Emu Farming - Ponzi Scheme redefined - Part 2

Yesterday's post on the Emu Farming Part 1 was more on the original intend of the Emu farming franchise and how it could have turn into real business.

However, what is found to be happening is quiet contradictory to it. Maharashtra State Government ordered CID probe as they suspect about 200 Crore (40 million dollars) as you can see in this link along with the ban on the state and Tamilnadu government has already instructed forest husbandary department to conduct enquiry on the Emu farming after being reported suspicious circular trading in Erode.

What is circular trading?

Circular trading is a term used in Stock markets to represent any fradulant tranding pattern where individual or group of individuals target a particular stock and buy and sell the same number of stocks at the same time. That is person A will sell to B, while at the same time, B will sell to C and in turn C will sell to A.

What this would achieve?
At the out skirt, it would definitely give an impression that the stock is actively being traded to the people/investors outside this group, and in turn would involve in the trading of this questionable stocks.

How Emu farming is being related to this circular trading scheme?
As one of the shrewd investor who timely escaped from this scheme from one the emu farm said: “If everyone is selling this Emu bird not to the end consumer but to people who are getting into farming, it doesn’t sound good". This also indicates, some where some one is creating the much needed hype and advertisement to bloat the value of the Emu bird without actually exporting after processing through Emu Processing Unit (EPU) for its skin, toe nails, meat and oil purposes. This would also mean that there is absolutely the external customer base created to sell these birds to, which is exactly opposite to what they have promised as the benefit of farming these Australian birds.

With the get rich quick scheme and MLM structures to "triple" your money in less than 2 years, any amount of gold coins given as a gift should buzz the prosperous investors instead of falling to it as gullible ones.

I guess I did explain the reason why I have related to Ponzi scheme. But as to no surprise, the governments were NOT acting upon quickly with the reason stating "no one complained so far".

The supporters of the Emu farming putting their foot strong with quoting the approval of NABARD loans as strong reason why Emu farming is NOT a scam.

Not sure if the NABARD approved subsidies to any of these ponzi companies or recognized them in first place even after the state governments started complaining...

As Franklin Roosevelt once said "We have always known that heedless self interest was bad morals, we now know that it is bad economics.". I am sure we are heading towards that...
