Good to see you all after about 542 days. Well..,this data may sound funny but that is the unfortunate result of my never-ending procrastination process of, "I will blog it tomorrow!!" promise to myself.
Over this period of 542 days or about 1.5 years since I wrote my last post on this blog: , there were several things that have been changed me, personally, physically, geographically (with my relocation) and with so many other things to "ally" with...But this promise of "I will blog this tomorrow!" was ever green in mind and amused to see my unconscious perserverance of keeping it ever-green, so far.
The amazing concept that I have jsut read, dawned on me and dragged me to blog this post, at this weird hours of Central Time, 12:37 as the clock states, as I typing. I could NOT resist b-logging this concept and hence this post, I must state.
The name of the concept is "Maturation". This, as you would have googled by now, you might have come across in several walks of life, well, ..depending on the lane you are treading ahead:
For the biology subject initated nerds might relate to the functional development of the finally settled ova or sperm cells
For the connoiseur of wineries and the fantastic wines you may have across, you may have definitely heard this concept, "Maturation" which is nothing but the fermentation process took the grapes and other ingradients cemented several feets beneath ground has finally resulted in a fine form of liquid that is ready for drinking.
Or if you are a tea-wine-totaler like me, you would have heard this term for the ripening process of the fruit especially lot you may hear with mango season that is coming up now.
Now, if you are wondering how this concept is related to the avoidance of procrastination I am talking err., typing about, I must start with the process of developing ideas.
Any projects, however pet that you may come across, the idea of the same might have sparked with a one liner and been developed over the time. The key part of the development is "over the time", which is what I would relate with the above examples, I have stated for Maturation.
The concept was first observed from this scholarly paper titled "Providing clarity and a common language to the" fuzzy front end", by Koen, Peter, et al in Research Technology Management (2001), the authors explained about the new product developement ideas through "Idea Genesis" - how to give birth to an idea (Warning: I may post the gist of this paper soon ;))
The theme of the concept is so simple as to comparing how a cow gets its food processed, to explain in a simple way so that even a dummy like me could get this across.
I have always wondered the way the cow takes the food and process it as it is different from any other domestic animals you could observe. Cows do NOT directly push the food inside but munches the grass or simply mows and stores it so that it could settle at a places where it could grind and push inside.
For the details process mapping on this, you may want to read this interesting article on How cows eat grass, as this is NOT a main intention behind this post!!
Coming back to the main motif behind this post, the Maturation concept works in a similar way where the solution to any issues that we would like us to figure out, irrespective of the nature, whether it is official, personal, philosophical, etc., can be initiated to the brain in the form of Posting a Question and move for another activites to provide the needed hiatus.
Though we have moved our focus to other priorities, it has been found out that our brain has been programmed to work subconsciously on the question in the background, even as we are focussing on the other priorities. Sounds amazing or unbelievable? Well it was to me and still is, even though the Maturation idea that I am posting now is result of it.
While this conept I have across recently with the book that I am reading by Mark Forrester, namely Secrets of Productive People, 2 days back, this post has been result of one such question:
Well, after two days, definitely this concept atleast helped me to move my procrastination cheese which were stinking for last 542 days and ended up this blog post.
So, I must state, "It works!!".
The outstanding question is : "Are you ready to try this amazing concept of Maturation"?? Please feel free to share your observations or results.
